My last stop after Darawar fort and Bhawalpur was Multan (14/15-2-2008) also known as "the city of Saints". There are lots of Tombs in this city. City is in Punjab province and about 700 Km from Islamabad the capital. In the 7th century, Multan was conquered along with Sindh by the army of Muhammad bin Qasim the city was securely under Muslim rule, although it was in effect an independent state. The city was attacked twice by Mahmud of Ghazni who destroyed the Sun Temple and broke its giant Idol. Under the Mughal Empire,Multan enjoyed over 200 years of peace, and became known as Dar al-Aman (Abode of Peace). (Wikipedia) ,Saraiki Language is spoken .I was there for just few hours was not able to wander in whole city hence these photos are shot at only one place known as Kila where famous Rukn-i-Alam and Bahud deen Zakria's tombs are situated.
